Steam library

When Steam is installed, DeckCrate adds a Steam shortcut to the sidebar’s Places section that opens your Steam library (steamapps) folder in one tap. It sits near the top of Places, just under Recent and above Home, and carries a gamepad icon.

Where it points

DeckCrate looks for Steam in the platform’s default location and, if found, points the shortcut at that library’s steamapps folder:

• SteamOS / Linux — ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps (the Steam Deck’s ~/.steam/steam and Flatpak / Snap layouts are found too).
• macOS — ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps.
• Windows — Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps.

If Steam isn’t installed in one of these locations, the shortcut simply doesn’t appear — there’s nothing to configure.

Note

The shortcut targets your default Steam library. Games you’ve installed to a second library folder (such as a microSD card or another drive) live elsewhere; browse to those from Devices or a bookmark.

Showing / hiding

The Steam entry is shown by default. You can hide it from the Preferences tab of the Operations & Preferences manager, under Places shown — the toggle appears there only when Steam is installed.
